Game Recap

It was Homecoming at Walnut High School Friday night but the Mustangs lost their league opener to Los Altos High School 34-14. The Conquerors led off the game with a 13 play TD drive, with two 4th down conversions. Walnut had a long 10 play drive on their following possession but failed to come away with any points. The drive stalled after a controversial penalty took off a tying TD pass from QB Enzo Angels to Jared Arellano. Walnut missed the field goal and Los Altos scored the next 21 points. After halftime, Arellano took the kickoff 95 yards for a TD and a few plays later, Jacob Gaskin picked up a Los Altos fumble and returned it 55 yards to bring the Mustangs as close as they would get at 28-14. Walnut will travel to West Covina next Friday.
