Frosh Football was behind all game Thursday afternoon before an unlikely play at the end led to a Mustang 25-24 victory. Diamond Bar jumped up early 8-0 before Walnut came back with a 13 Yd Pass from Demetrius Stampley to Nicholas Orsatt for a TD. After the Brahmas scored again. Walnut got a 2 yard TD run from Elias Riojas. Diamond Bar got their third TD with a 2-point conversion early in the 3rd quarter but Walnut cut into the lead with a 30 yard field goal from Elias Riojas. Late in the 4th quarter Walnut drove down the field and scored their 3rd TD with a Anthony Rojas 2-yard run. The Mustangs did not convert on the 2-point try and still trailed Diamond Bar by only one point, 23-24 with only minutes remaining. Walnut got the ball on the 13 yard line but fumbled on the first play. All Diamond Bar had to do was hold on to the ball and keep it away from their own end zone. That strategy nearly failed when their QB got tackled just outside the end zone that looked like it may have been the much needed 2-point safety but it was put on the 1 yard line. The Brahmas then punted and the ball slipped through the Brahma punter and out the back of the endzone for the safety and Walnut victory.
