Walnut Mustangs defeated Diamond Ranch 6-3 on Thursday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at two with Walnut Mustangs batting in the top of the fifth when Walnut Mustangs scored on a stolen base during MARK DIAZ’s at bat. Then DIAZ singled.
Walnut Mustangs opened up an early lead in the second inning when KYLE CALZADIAZ’s sac fly scored one run for Walnut Mustangs.
JARED MEDINA was credited with the victory for Walnut Mustangs. He surrendered three runs on three hits over five and two-thirds innings. MANNY CASILLAS and ABEL GARIBAY entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. CASILLAS recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Walnut Mustangs.
#25 took the loss for Diamond Ranch. He went five innings, allowing five runs on four hits and striking out two.
DIAZ led Walnut Mustangs with two hits in four at bats.
